Andy Truong is an ethically produced womenswear label, born in Melbourne, specialising in sustainably made contemporary, romantic designs for modern women.
We specifically work on a pre-order basis to ensure we are not over producing and creating excess waste with leftover stock. With each collection, we strive to create beautiful garments while trying to reduce waste, recycle materials, and utilise as many Australian resources by working with local suppliers and manufacturers.
Born in 1996, Andy Truong is an Australian fashion designer, of Vietnamese heritage from Sydney. In 2012, whilst still attending high school, his label debuted at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week presenting his Spring/Summer collection and becoming known as Australia’s Youngest Fashion Designer at the tender age of 15.
After many accolades, press and media attention, he returned to show at fashion week again, twice! First at FRED HATES FASHION during MSFW in 2013, and the second at THE FUTURE RUNWAY at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival in 2014.
During his final years in high school, Andy was offered a scholarship to study design at Kangan Institute where he further honed his design skills and, after graduating, has since studied a Bachelor’s of Fashion Design at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Andy has had extensive experience in Design and Retail industries where he worked as Personal Stylist at MYER and gained invaluable insight into the inner workings of a woman’s mind while shopping.
He also worked as a Product Designer, at Spacecraft Australia, working closely with Stewart Russell to create beautiful items from the screen-printed fabrics the studio produced.
He was also a Wholesale Sales Representative at Accent Group, working for the brands Dr. Martens, Timberland and Saucony.
Andy Truong has been featured in The Age, The Herald Sun, Channel 7 News, ABC’s show MY24, magazines, blogs and online interviews.
